Storms A Brewing.....

Well as everyone knows there was a pretty good spring storm that rolled through Cedar Rapids and most of Iowa on Sunday May 19th.  Unfortunately there were tree limbs down all over town and even power knocked out to several places for long hours.  At First Congregational Church where the Gather and Grow Friendship Garden is located had 2 major trees completed up rooted.  The only damage done was one of the trees barely falling on the wire fence of the garden.  Check out the photos below to see the whole scene- and to see how lucky we were that everything is ok!

gate!!  Luckily the wire fence can be replaced
or bent back into place.

This is the view of the tree that fell at the corner of the
church.  Luckily it didn't hit the church and probably
only took out some bushes.
