The Garden is Coming Together!

Some people wonder how the garden gets completed.  Honestly, it takes a lot of people to make the garden happen!  We were lucky enough to have 7 Marion High School students plus a teacher to come and help with a ton of loose ends for their One Day in May campaign.  (The ENTIRE school goes to different sites and give back to the community for a whole day! HOW COOL IS THAT?!)

So on Monday May 13th the students came to First Congregational Church did several different things including: painting pickets for our fence, finishing some wind chimes for the art show, and even planting several different things in the garden!!  Some of the things that were planted were transplants (meaning they were grown in Culver's green house from seeds and are already plants growing) and some were direct sow (which means putting the seeds in the ground).  Check out the pictures below to see the garden sprouting up before our eyes!!

On Thursday another group will be coming for The United Way's Day of Caring and will be mulching and covering up all of the grass, finishing the fence, and planting the rest of the garden with the help of the Gardening Enrichment students from Johnson School of the Arts.  We'll post more pictures once things are completed!

Also, don't get about the ART SHOW AND SALE this Friday from 5-7pm!!!
