Short update for a Monday morning:
A lot of the garden is growing rapidly. If you don't know much about gardens I can tell you this: There is seasonality in a garden. Some things grow and ripen in the early part of the season, some in the middle part, and some later in the season. Right now lettuce, spinach, and radish (we didn't plant radishes but we have the other two at our garden) are all "in season" and ripe and ready to be picked and eaten. Below is a picture of the ISU Extension and Outreach's Office Manager, Mary, enjoying a bag of fresh lettuce and spinach mix that was picked from the garden just on Thursday.
Her expression says it all! YUM!!!!
